What is a Routing Label?
A Routing Label in GrubCenter is used to route specific menu items to designated stations within your kitchen setup. It acts as a smart identifier that links a menu item with the appropriate Station.
Users can choose between 3 levels of routing:
- Menu Routing (Mandatory):
-
Definition: Routes the entire menu of a brand to a specific station.
-
Use Case: When a brand’s full menu is prepared at a single station.
-
Example: Route all items from Brand X to the Brand X Station.
-
- Category Routing (Optional):
-
Definition: Routes a specific category of items within a menu to a station.
-
Use Case: Useful when different food types require different preparation areas.
-
Example: Route all items under the Grilled Foods category to the Grill Station.
-
- Menu Item Routing (Optional):
-
Definition: Routes a specific menu item to a designated station.
-
Use Case: For precise routing when only select items share a prep station.
-
Example: Route Caesar Salad to the Cold Station, regardless of the brand.
